Yasmin Lambie - Simpson
October's Artist

Over the years Yasmin Lambie-Simpson has developed an art practice that includes drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and installation.

She explores the relationships of texture and pattern in nature, the spatial nuances and subtle balance of color and line and is fascinated by patterns and how nature has its unique, exquisite way of putting forms together, whether it is the leaves on a branch or the way limbs of the body are perfectly contoured to fit.

Yasmin is also intrigued by the spaces in between, those spaces that can bind us but that can also separate us. What patterns make up the spaces we cannot see?  Questions she meditates on while making marks.

Yasmin received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MA in Transformative Art from JFK University. She has exhibited her work in the Bay Area, England, and Prague.
